Wall-mounted family calendar + HA dashboard?

I’m looking into digitalizing our weekly schedule / to-do list combo (currently, a whiteboard). I’d love to have a display wall-mount in our central space, with a dashboard that’s fully customizable to our preferences (which is essentially always-on, except in nighttime).

Thinking about splurging on a Cozyla display, since it’s essentially an android tablet and can run the HA companion app, but I’m not sure how well it actually holds up to HA and my preferences. While I’ve automated our house fully, I’m not very well versed in the details of HA. So I would love to hear your experiences! How easy is such a thing to set-up?

Some general preferences:

  • Wall mounted
  • Customizable
  • Pretty to look at — a matte screen with some kind of frame would be lovely, with a good UI
  • Easy to use, also for non-tech people (so needs a good UX)
  • Large! Was thinking somewhere about A3 to A2 size — 24" - 32" maybe

App / usability preferences:

  • Calendar display — with calendars from both apple and google, that also let’s you add, change or remove things
  • To-do list — something that’s easy to use on both the wall mount, iphone and android phone, such as Google Keep? Also the ability to add, change or remove things
  • Whenever someone rings the bell, show the live camera (otherwise this widget can be hidden/replaced with something else)
  • Weather forecast for the day/week
  • The ability to control from HA. So turning it off whenever our alarm activates, turning it on again whenever it deactivates.
  • See temperature (general room temperature + aircon)
  • The ability to control devices in the room it’s hanging (ie., lights, curtains, philips TV, sonos)
  • The ability to control automations (turn off aircon or sunscreen automation for example)

As said, I’ve come across the Cozyla which seems good. It seems like it can run the HA companion app and thus, a custom dashboard. But I’m not sure if an HA dashboard is good enough for my requirements above? Does it provide a decent widget to use on the bottom half of the screen, for example? I could split-screen the HA-app (with all the smart device options) and the calendar, but then I’d be missing the google keep I think?
