Wall Panel Hardware advice needed

After many years of using HA I’ve finally decided to build a wall panel. I’d like to use Full Kiosk Browser and Kiosk Mode on an Android tablet. Having lived in the Apple ecosystem since iPhone4, it’s been a very long time since I’ve worked with the Android platform. This YouTube video is exactly what I’d like to achieve. After looking around Amazon for Android tablets I need to know if any of the inexpensive no-name tablets would work equally as well as a Galaxy A9 that the user showed in the video.
If you’ve built a wall tablet using any of the Android devices, I’d love to get your feedback on what works and what does not. Obviously I’d love to save some money if a cheap clone works, but if a name brand device excels for any reason I may not know about, then I’ll spend the cash to get the best product for the task.
The main goal of this tablet will be to provide information to us in the house. It is less likely to be a command center and more likely to be an information portal.

I’d appreciate any feedback from experienced wall tablet builders or anyone who tried but struggled with completing the project. The more info I get up front, the better the outcome in the end.

Thank,

The cheap no name android tablets isn’t great.
If the device is mainly to be looked at then it might work, but if you are going to use it then you could get frustrated by the poor touch functionality and lagging screen/tablet.
However just stepping up to the “fairly known brands but still cheap” is probably a big step in feel and speed but not as much in price.
I would personally not go for Samsung since I find their products overpriced.

So Huawei, Xiaomi, Motorola is brands that at least has good reputation in phones but still cheap.
I would probably look at them.
I have exclusively bought cheap Motorola phones for everyone in the family and even my work phone even though the company promotes iPhones.
We don’t have any tablets from any of those manufacturers so don’t know if they are any good, but I would at least use them as my starting point for my search.
