Hi,
I’m currently using a Wallbox Pulsar Pro. It’s connected via OCPP for billing purposes.
I can install the Wallbox integration in Home Assistant, the device and 20 entitities are added to the dashboard.
However, when I try to pause (stop, resume, …) the charing session from HA, I get an “API error” message.
The integration also offers the possibility to change the maximum current - this seems to work fine.
Stopping/pausing the session from within the native wallbox app on a mobile phone doesn’t seem to work neither. I don’t have the option, but the documenation suggests this button should be on a place where I see the charger is managed by an OCPP.
Anybody knows if it is possible with HA to pause the charging session? (when OCPP is enabled.
HA + charger info:
HA OS , core 2026.2.3
wallbox account integration with private email address (not using google account - it’s known this is not possible)
Update:
ok, unfortunately it seems this is normal behavior… Because an OCPP provider is used, they are in charge for starting/stopping a charge session;.
So, I cannot control this myself.
I’m happy to hear if there are alternatives (not cancelling the OCPP - because this is needed for billing) to start/stop/pauze charging via HA.
Currently, I check the Tibber app to see when the cheapest electricity rate is available. Or when I know the solar panels have enough capacity left.
In the Audi app I limit the maximum percentage of the car battery.
Then I tag my charging card to the Wallbox so it’s released. Then I go to the Wallbox app’s scheduling section to enter the correct time window, including any reduced power.
The scheduling in the Wallbox app overrides the starting and stopping process because it has a fixed schedule.
Unfortunately, this scheduling can only be set via the Wallbox app. And I haven’t yet found a way to have this run through the HA (General Electricity and Gas) integration, because starting and stopping the HA integration doesn’t affect the scheduling.
I’ll post an update if I find another solution, but I’m affraid it will be difficult
Your solution is not quite what I’m looking for. I know more or less when the solar panels will have enough capacity, so I will be injecting power in the net.
But it’s also possible exra appliances will be active (disher, washing machine, …), resulting in not such a large amount of injection, or even consumption.
If the EV charges at the same time (even within the schedule), it could be there is too much consumption (I suppose you’re also a resident in BE - so I’m trying to avoid a too high max current/month peak because I’m currently at a peak of ± 2.8kW / month.)
But when the planning in the Wallbox app was available in Home Assistant you could stop/start the session with a script (if there is enough capacity for example) or something even if you have OCPP enabled. But sadly the planning is only available in the app on the mobile.
