Warema Xeenos: First Matter-over-Thread roller shutter actuator

Hi everyone,

as an early adoptor of Matter-over-Thread, I was eager to see the first roller shutter controller released. This happens to be the Warema Xeenos actuator, released last week. See here for some details on the Warema website.

I bought a unit. Here are some first insights:
The manual stated it should boot in pairing mode, but I had to manually enable the pairing mode (powering on and off a few times, see manual).
Other than that, so far my experience is solid, but nothing spectacular. I’m happy with the unit, but the high price (~130-160€) is definitely questionable.

So there is no power/energy measurement. The calibration happens to be done automatically on the fly, this works quite well.

Sorry if this post bothered you. It is not meant to be advertisement, but rather to help people make an informed decision if and how they want to control roller shutters via Thread (and use the usual rockers/switches; otherwise there are additional options by Eve and Aqara). To sum it up, I would say: If you really want it, Warema is definitely an option. But after all, in my opinion the price is too high.

Warema is a German brand, it seems all their AC products are only 230V. I did no research or whatsoever on this, and I don’t have any additional information.
