Warmwater for the washing machine

Hi,
I have a
Miele W4446 WPS
in my bath room and I track the power usage and finishing with a
Gosung SP111 v1.1 plug (Tasmota over MQTT).

Last week I connected the water inlet with the faucet of my bathtub.
I set the temperature to max. hot (for 60 C°) or about 40 C° washing program and after about 15 minutes to cold.
The energy saving result was great:
60 C° with cold water: 1.03 kWh → with warm water 0.495 kWh -52%
40 C° 0.32 kWh → 0.11 kWh -65%
My warm water comes from the solar collector or from the heatpump and is very cheap for me.

Now I would like to automate the water inlet and program detection.

  1. Build a water temperature mixer - controlled by esp - Ideas:
  1. Detect the program and used washing temperature - Ideas:
  • Miele has a optical interface called “PC” to install updates and get sensor values. The interface is closed source and not official documented…
Has anyone more information about this optical interface?
  • Other people has connected an esp to the controller board: https://www.reddit.com/r/esp8266/comments/msot24/i_implanted_a_brain_into_my_washing_machine/
But I`m not a hardware crack to do it on my own.
Has anyone make the same with a newer W4xxx machine? Or with the EW170 Miele Board?
  • Detect warm water requirement by the power usage (about > 800 W)

Too late for you now, but Miele does offer variants with warm water inlets as well - for exactly this reason.
