Watchtower update has goosed my HA

Hi,
I decided to finally to add Watchtower to my list of dockers. After the first update run it has goosed my HA Core.
I can get to the GUI page but my account has gone and i’m being asked to start again…!
Is there a way to recover my account?

Do folks use Watchtower for docker, I was just reading about ‘Whats Up Docker’ as an alternative.

Restore from backup.

…and say for arguments sake “this friend of mine” didn’t have a backup…?

I don’t use HA that often to be honest and only created my first automation yesterday.
Just re-adding all the devices and services is a pain.

I wondered where the account stuff is stored so I can check the folders.
Would also be good to know my previous version and the new one Watchtower installed, I’m almost certain I updated it recently in prep for getting back experimenting with my homelab again.

Did it not do an automatic backup before installing the update?

I’m assuming you have a docker installation, so you mounted a directory to /config in your docker container.

That’s where all the configuration resides.

iirc you are asked to whether make a backup or not and doing one is by default when doing it manually via GUI.
I dont know how watchtower handles this, but id be surprised if watchtower is taking this into consideration Dont you have a backup configured manually/automatically?
If yes: Where are the backups located before it went to poop? Default is in /config

Ok, it didn’t take that long to set everything up again.
As mentioned, I have rarely used until now so no meaningful customisation was lost.

Backed up (and downloaded locally) now!
Will see what happens next time Watchtower runs.

I had a look in the config files (via Portainer console) and they were blank.
Just started again, seemed easier.

Woke up to a new install HA screen again this morning!!
Thankfully I had backed up yesterday. Needed to be a local copy too as nothing remains in backup history.
