Water Flow Meter for US residential use - potable water compliant

While there are lots of options on amazon.com I would like recommendations for a solution that meets all legal requirements (such as manufactured without any Pb) for the US. I would also like something that will not increase my chances of a leak, or reduce the flow in any way. Bonus if it costs less than $200 for the hardware alone. I don’t care for it to be zwave, or zigbee as I am already expecting to use an ESP32 running ESPHome.

While I live in the US I am European and am completely allergic to the “standard system” (lol). So, if it has some sort of display I’d be happy for it to have metric scales on it. Either way, I am going to have both values calculated in software as it will be handy when comparing to the utility bill. This meter will however only be measuring the water used within the home as it will be installed just prior to the water treatment equipment. The utility meter obviously tracks both home use and yard watering and I am afraid that will have to remain invisible to HA even though it is a “smart meter” as I have no access to its readings.

Example of one I found that may work:

I’d prefer it to be smaller even if without any ‘display’. Ideally no plastic parts would be best.

Suggestions?
