Wear OS gesture control for Home Assistant scenes and costume props

Hi everyone — I’m Jonathan, the developer of CosNFX.

CosNFX turns deliberate wrist and arm gestures into cues for sound, watch visuals, and connected effects. The core experience runs directly on a Wear OS watch, while the optional prop-control layer can also send HTTP, OSC, or Art-Net over the local network.

For Home Assistant, the basic path is:

Wear OS gesture → HTTP request or webhook → Home Assistant automation → scene or device

That makes it possible for one movement to trigger the watch’s sound and visual while also changing WLED or Philips Hue lighting, running a Home Assistant-connected fan, or firing another performance cue. Anything involving fog, smoke, mains power, or moving hardware still needs an appropriate remote-control interface and a safe, fail-secure setup.

The core app runs entirely on the watch; a phone is not required. I developed and tested primarily on a Galaxy Watch 7. The app is free, with all 30 included identities, sounds, visuals, built-in gestures, calibration, and combos. Prop control is part of the optional $4.99 one-time Pro unlock; there are no ads or subscriptions.

I’d especially value feedback on the actual workflow: was connecting CosNFX to a Home Assistant webhook clear, did the gesture fire reliably, and which watch model did you use? I’d also like to hear what automation you connected—lighting, a fan, a scene, or something else.
