Weather and Traffic Data from HD Radio Stations

Hey Folks,
I started working on a project to extract weather and traffic data from HD Radio stations using nrsc5, so it can be used in a home assistant dashboard.

These extract both the TTN and HERE maps, add a nice timestamp and upload to your home assistant config/www directory:

I put all the scripts I used here: github/wryandginger/headless-HERE-TTN

This project is based on the work of a few other people (mainly KYDronePilot/hdfm), but I couldn't find anything that did this headless. I hope others find this useful.

If you use it in a different market from Seattle, WA I would love to know if it works for you. If you're a professional software developer and are horrified by my sloppy code, please feel free to shame me with a PR.

In case anyone is interested, I also made a docker container version of this in the same repo. I also have a related project called nrsc5-webplayer that gives you HD Radio anywhere:

And totally unrelated to this thread, I have a project I’m working on called Poly, which is a medication and wellness tracking and reporting app. Anyone who has chronic medical conditions might find this useful. It securely tracks medication compliance, basic vitals, sleep quality, and mood. Everything is saved in a secure database. Users can download and share selected health data with a medical professional. Designed by a cancer patient for cancer patients. :raised_fist:
