WeMo Motion issues

After upgrading from 28.2 to 31.1 I’m having reliability issues with the WeMo Motion in HASS. The WeMo app on the phone always show motion being detected appropriately, but HASS is seeing it maybe 60% of the time.

I’ve tried doing a full reset of the WeMo device, I’m using reserved DHCP for my WeMo devices, so I have their IPs hardcoded in my configuration.yaml.

WeMo switching and Link bulbs do not appear impacted by this issue.

Anyone else seeing an issue like this?

Downgrading to .30.2 seems to have resolved the issues I was seeing.

Ever find a fix to this after updating. I have this problem as well - currently on 42.2.

Upgraded to 42.3, still the same behavior

My HA is on 0.69 and its only started being impacted with this issue. Are you still having the problem?

After this issue manifested, I swapped my WeMo motion sensors for Hue motion sensors. They’ve been much more reliable

I’m thinking I may have to go down the same route. Thanks.

I run two of them to use for triggering lights during the night. So far no issues have come up. Are you running the latest firmware?

Yes latest firmware in wemos and running HA 0.69.

Whats you Wifi coverage like? My entire lot of wemo plugs were only 50% reliable and spend most of the time going back to a solid orange like as their internal antennas are shit and need a real close AP.

It’s pretty close to the router to be honest. Like I mentioned the wemo app sees it fine, it’s just HA that has the issues.

Ah yeah missed that sorry, if its fine in the app, it can’t be signal.

I havent really done anything special with mine, I’ve just statically assigned the DHCP addresses in my router and then statically set them in HA (e.g. not auto discovery).

Exactly the same as mine.

I’m holding out for 0.70 to fix the issue looking at the RC changelog I’m not sure it will.

So 0.70 didn’t fix my wemo motion issue. I’ve ordered a Hue motion sensor, also looking into FFMEG
binary motion sensor on a camera.
