We have something like this on the porch. I’m using this GE Sync Edison style “smart” bulb, but it’s inconsistent at best.
What are my options? Hue Edison? I’d love to throw my 100W Hue color bulb inside, but it sticks out like a sore thumb. I’m simultaneously looking for sconces with frosted glass as a last result
I have a total of 5 balcony lights and I use a mixture of Zigbee and Wifi.
The problem of the Wifi bulbs is that, in once case, it is connected to a Xfinity extension pod because of the distance to the router. As from time to time (not often) that pod disconnects then the wifi bulb disconnects as well.
Based on my experience Zigbee bulbs are better as long as you have a good Zigbee mesh network .
Yep, I have a strong zigbee network. I guess my options are limited if I stick to a clear glass sconce because it needs to be Edison or edison-like

Order from somewhere you can easily return if it misbehaves, but if your zigbee network is as strong as you say it is, then you shouldn’t run into any issues.

I like to think it’s pretty strong. I have repeaters throughout the house and check the network web more than I’d like to admit. I’m certain there’s room for improvement but so far any errors have been user inflicted hehe
