What is the best tablet with HA on the wall

I found this thread and is also super interested in the latest updates and recommendations on large android tablets.
I need a large wall mounted tablet that should only run HA app and google calender, nothing more

Lenovo P12 not bad at all. Big enough to show the dashboard, charging from 40-60% enabled on the tablet, so plugged in all the time.

I have an old tablet with a tablet case paste on the wall with nano tape. It’s next to a USB 65W builtin charger.

The tablet is a Samsung Galaxy TAB A 2016 (SM-T580) running LingeageOS mostly on battery, There is almost nothing more of apps installed on the tablet and the standard battery is huge on tablets. So it can hold, even with his age, mostly arround a month on just the battery!

So tip: think about flashing it with LingeageOS. My suggestion is that it saves a lot of battery. So you can just charge it when needed.

For the information. I use this BSEED builtin charger and plug it in just once a month.

But there is also a WCD with builtin USB charger but just 20W. There are also with Zigbee builtin but it does not switch the USB ports…

Which version did you manage to install?

Why does that matter if it runs a browser?

I only have one Android device, but there I can’t install modern chromium versions as the system version is too old.

So this might also be problematic to websites if they use newer APIs at some point.

Two reasons for me:

  1. It can’t run the latest version of the browser.
  2. It doesn’t have any of the latest security updates.

Security doesn’t matter much if the tablet does not have internet access and only communicates with ha. Browser version is a point of attention hence also my question about the lineage os version that has been used.

I bought a replacement Android Tablet from Aliexpress.

Not installed yet, but first impressions are positive.

Runs Android 14.
