I am doing some remodeling and will be installing LED light strip molding in a couple of places in the house.
Some only need color temperature but some spots need full RGB + white color temp adjustment.
All will have a simple wall switch to control on/off (and maybe dimming)
Ideally color adjustment is via a simple local remote or wall panel
Ultimately I’m aiming for something that to everyone else in the house feels like it has nothing to do with HA (my wife says she ‘I just want normal switches that work’ LoL)
I’m looking for any recommendations folks have on LED controllers that work cleanly (and locally) with HA for this purpose?
Would also be interested in whether folks have any suggestions for switches they’ve used for this? and whether they’ve had better luck with switching on the 120V side or having the switch signal the controller?
gledopto ESP32 WLED LED Strip Controller worked well for me
I think up to 150 LED it is consistent but after it is best to run parallel power connection at that point to get consistent illumination( basically come t power at every 100-150 bulb or so).
I would test controller with bulb before install. I test everything before install. I don’t like surprises
Totally agree on test before install. My challenges have usually been with reliability over item and stability on the ESP32; not so much issues with the devices they are controlling.
