What touchscreen should I use?

Hi I have a Google Nest Hub Max but would like a bigger touch screen.
Ideally what I would like is to have the touchscreen with build in OS so I dont have to use and external PC.
Im seeking a 18/22" quality screen that is affordable.
Is that possible?
If not what are people using where the external device is as minimalistic as possible but still powerful.

Raspberry pi connected to a touchscreen is direction I would go for 22” and above with minimal requirements

Although there are sketchy work arounds, HA is headless and the screen doesn’t help you.
Is in a Pi with a PIOS version as a terminal is fine, and loading container or a VM on a pi with limited resources could work but that’s a bit sketchy.

Thanks for the answers. Will that be powerful enough in the long run?
I would like to play videos and maybe Netflix.
Ideally I would like to run Android system with touch as close to Nest Hub system and use as Chromecast receiver and voice assistant as possible but what are the options there?

Hi Peter, are aware that HA is server software and only presents a terminal if you connect a display to it?

Hi Nick. Yes im aware, but not sure I understand? I want to have flashy dashboards and do graphic/cpu heavy tasks on the screen:)

Well, here are 2 systems with a 4-core which I exclusively use for HA: 1 Android tablet and a RPi 3 with a 7" touch screen.
Then there are 2 more recent Android systems with a 8-core and obvious those do work a lot smoother with HA.

It also comes down to which OS you want to use that defines your options.

You are looking for a commercial tablet. They can go that big and run Android, so no hacking about. Designed for use in shops etc so you might have to build a mount. Often POE as well.
Take a look on eBay, Ali Express etc.
Put Fully Kiosk paid version on it and you can control it from HA.

Do you have a link for tablets 18" ich and affordable?
