What type of panel do I have, and which monitor should I use?

Or, you know, just use a multimeter. I believe it took me 5 minutes to calibrate mine which isn’t bad considering it mean re-compiling and uploading my code several times.

Depends on what the OP is looking for.

Voltage, current, reactive power and power factor on your multimeter? At 0.5% calibration back to a certified standard? Um yeah, I’ll check if I have a spare in the shed…

No judge is going to take your word over the power company if you show up with your Radio Shack moving needle hobby meter, which may be quite adequate for home use, but not if you are fighting over a few cents in a court of law. Some of those calibrated meters have quite a few more digits on the display, and cost thousands, not just to buy, but to keep certified to standards. Some even make cute charts with squiggly lines on a printout for your lawyer to wave around in court.
Have a look at the Dranetz website for some idea of what is out there. I have used their equipment over the years in another career life.

I agree, otherwise only printout is your lawyers bill, never within 0.5% of your expectations…

Not everything has to be to lab standards.

Read Richard Stoll’s The Cuckoo’s Egg and tell me a cent or two here and there doesn’t matter.
As previously pointed out, there is an element of suspicion the meters may be inaccurate. I have outlined my reasons why I disagree. Not a biggie for one customer, but a class action state wide may invoke a different reaction when lawyers wigs at ten paces and millions of dollars are involved should any inaccuracy in favor of the utility be discovered.
