What's the difference between Energy and Consumption in Meross Plugs

I have HA OS and have installed Meross smart plugs. They are working fine.

  • I don’t understand why they have labels “Energy” and “Consumption”, both showing the same values with the same units Wh.
  • I also expected a “sensor” to show the total power consumed.

One might reset daily. The other could be a total lifetime energy sensor. Just a guess.

Also try unplugging one from the power for a minute. What happens to both values when you plug it back in?

They remain in sync.

The only thing I found was that

  • Energy is the “legacy” one and is done by the device
  • Consumption may be the “modern” way and is done by Meross Lan

I think this is idiotic. But it would nice if someone could confirm it.
