Hey Everyone,
Very new to HA.
I recently bought a ZBT-1 and Matter over thread light/dimmer relay. And was hoping to set these up as a proof of concept. Sadly when I try to add the relay I keep getting a ‘Cant reach device’ message. I noticed that my matter addon shows a ‘Error With Socket 51’. So I am wondering if there is some issue with my matter addon setup (or HA config itself).

Looking online it seems this is likely some issue with my IPv6 settings (or maybe a port) but i have confirmed ipv6 is enabled and an ip address is being assigned to HA. I also tried disabling windows firewalls completly on VM machine. I have also tried all combinations of restarting an reinstalling things. If anyone had any advice on next steps to try that would be greatly appreciated. Im guessing my next step will be to start trying traceroute or similar to each required port?
My setup is:
VirtualBox on windows 10 (with bridged network adaptor and passing USB ZBT-1 through) Running HA 2025.10.2 and running default_config
Addons:
Matter Server: 8.1.1
OpenThread Border Router: 2.14.0 connected to ZBT1 (Flashed with thread firmware) and this router set as my prefered network.
