Just updated home assistant to25.12.0
and I don’t see where to create a new home dashboard. it only shows 4 choice New from scratch, Overview, Map & webpage

There is something very wrong with your config. Check your logs.
Don’t restore a backup yet, it is probably fixable.
That’s a sure fire way to corrupt your database or disk. Use the Reboot Host option from the Developer Tools → YAML → Restart menu in future.
Are all the integrations set up correctly now?
Did you check your logs for what was wrong?
I used the system “reboot system”
The only log shows an error with a LinkNlink presence sensor
but still can not add the dashboard only show
You don’t need to. They are already there. Built in by default. You just have to un-hide them by clicking on the crossed out eye icons:
when I click on them I get a whole lot of items in the side bar.
Seems it needs some sorting, should not be like this, before upgrade i could add another home dashboard and give it a new name for use on Tablet or mobile phone, thus having multiple home dashboards to work on

You can still do this. Go to Settings → Dashboards → Add a dashboard (button bottom right).

You’re expecting to be able to duplicate the built in Home Dashboard.
That’s not how this works. There is only one Home, Lights, Climate, etc dashboard. Like there is only one energy dashboard.
You can use the first option (New dashboard from scratch) to build whatever you want though.

Just I remember previously (maybe incorrect. my memory is a bit shot) thought I could add several home dashboards
I can not restore any old backup as I get errors when trying, so I have to move foreword.

I never used them so am not sure.
I just had a look to see if you could copy the raw edit view from the Home dashboard to a New “from scratch” dashboard as a work-around. You can’t. There is no raw view for the built in Home dashboard.
I have the same issue, I waned to rebuild the “experimental” new Home Dashboard as I have added new areas and cleaned up a load of old cr*p. Did you ever find it it again or solve why it is not appearing as an option for a new dashboard ?

I hope the next update fix it.
