Which hub should I make the Zwave master controller?

I have the following hubs:

  • ISY994i with Zwave (currently has zwave devices added)
  • Home Assistant with Aeotec zwave dongle
  • Smarthings hub

HA currently uses the ISY component so it can access ISY devices (both Insteon and zwave). It’s fairly reliable. I don’t use the ISY (much) to control the zwave devices. It happens, but it’s rare.

I currently use an ISY to add my zwave devices, but it doesn’t work nicely with HA. I got an aeotec dongle and am adding it to HA.

Which device should I make the “master” Zwave controller? I had poor luck before with the ISY as the master and ST the secondary. I’d love to be able to take advantage of the ST functionality, but I don’t know if that behaves well in secondary mode.

ETA: Is there a smartthings component for HA? I couldn’t find one.

Using Home Assistant itself will make everything faster.

As for SmartThings, that has to be integrated over MQTT. It’s worth searching the forum for people’s experiences.

I currently use an insteon PLM and a Z-Wave dongle. HA is the master for both of them. I like the idea of having one controller that automate everything and makes it device-independent
