Which of 3 configuration.yaml files to edit

So let’s start with an apology. I am new to this environment but impressed with the support I get from this forum, so sorry for a numbty question.

I am looking at adding. My KEF speakers to HA and see it requires mods to the configuration.yaml file.

My question is: which configuration.yaml file? I have 3. See screen shot.

Probably neither of them.

You are looking for /homeassistant/configuration.yaml

But I don’t have such a file?

You have it somewhere.
It is the most important configuration file for HA!

So what installation do you use and what editor?

What installation? I have a HA Green device on my Mac. I use VS Code.

VSCode opens in the config folder that it is in. It should be in the list right there.

In VS Code you should have an explorer pane to the left.
There should be a section called root and under that one called config (I have two configs for some strange reason, but in the “wrong” config, the right config is located inside???)

EDIT: Ahh, one of them have a tiny dot in front of the name :smile:

Ok thanks all. I have to do some more exploring. I don’t see an option to explore a root folder but I guess this is my bad… I will keep exploring.

Just choose the first text under the explorer in the left pane.
It should be the file browser and it should either open up in root or directly in config.
