Which Sonoff Sensor for Bathroom?

Hi everyone.

I am currently using a Sonoff SNZB-02P in my bathroom to turn my extractor fan on.

I have had no issues at all with it, despite it being placed on the same wall as my shower, so it gets quite a lot of direct humidity.

I need to buy another sensor as I am making my heating smart.

I was just going to buy a second SNZB-02P but have noticed that they now have a model specifically for high humidity areas like bathrooms - SNZB-02WD.

It is a bit more expensive.

My question, therefore:

  1. Do I use the existing 02P for my heating and buy the 02WD for my bathroom?
  2. Just buy a second 02P and leave the current one where it is?

In other words, is the 02WD worth the extra cost and is it really for bathrooms (rather than being placed outside)?

Do that. Just because your sensor has withstood the humidity so far doesn’t mean it will continue to do so. Buying a model which is specifically rated for IP65 give you more peace of mind, plus it’s cheaper than having to buy a third one later when humidity finally gets to the bathroom one & kills it.
