Why is entry showing as ‘untracked’ in device detail?

Hi!

I have a bunch of devices set up identically and tracked in the Energy dashboard.

One device — Study AV Unit — has ‘untracked’ in parentheses after its name, only in the ‘individual devices detail usage’ graph.

It seems to be being tracked fine. Its energy usage figures increase and decrease as expected, and ‘untracked’ doesn’t show anywhere else, including the total usage graph.

Any help appreciated!

Cheers,
Chris

(untracked) means that this is the amount of energy from that device that was not tracked in a downstream device. It’s not indicative of a problem, it just means that you have assigned children to that device.

So if AV Unit consumes 3kWh, and a child device consumes 2kWh, then you will see 1kWh (untracked).

Ah, I see! That makes perfect sense, since I do have two downstream devices being tracked.

Feels like an odd wording because it is being tracked…. But I get what it means!

Yeah I can see it may not be immediately intuitive, it’s just kind of hard to explain the concept in a single word that fits nicely in the legend.

Unspecified?

I came to this thread with the same confusion.
