I have… “Navigate to the add-on logs and follow the instructions given there.”
And as every person on Earth can clearly see, there is no information at all of any kind whatsoever. Not a single sausage. No “instructions”. No what-to-do-next. Nothing…
If I wanted to lead everyone “up the garden path and down to the local pond”, and to give absolutely no information of any kind whatsoever - I’d write my own add-on thank you.
For anyone who’s interested I have invented “The Bernoulli Random Menu Generator” whereupon any time you click on anything your entire Menu structure gets randomly re-created… It’s genius! No one will ever find anything again. Shout-out to the guy at Microsoft who filed “Printers” under the letter “D” (for Devices and printers …pure genius).
Sure did. It’s just there’s no visible evidence of anything in the side bar. No instructions of what to do next or how to actually navigate to the actual HACS page / install.
I got my first HomeAssistant yesterday and was equally frustrated with the HACS installation instructions.
HACS does not show up in the left sidemenu as the instructions describe. Instead, navigate to Settings / Add-ons and click the blue ADD-ON STORE button in the lower right corner.
Based on the directions, I expected to have to add the HACS repository using the 3 dots in the top right corner of the Add-on Store, but I noticed the HACS Add-ons Repository and Home Assistant Community Add-ons sections already present.
I suspect the directions are out of date and reflect an earlier version of HACS integration prior to integration with the Add-on Store.
From there I was able to install the desired add-on.
