Why is my new matter device connected with fabric Google LLC?

This is an Ikea flood sensor KLIPPBOK. HA shows connected fabrics Google LLC and Home Assistant. Same for an Ikea motion sensor MYGGSPRAY. Both are working fine with HA.

I never had any matter/thread devices in my house, and I would really want to avoid Google where possible.

So - why is Google LLC there without me having done anything? Did Ikea do it, or has it already been used by somebody else, or is this a requirement for HA? and is it safe to remove it?

Also, when I show device info, I have an item “ping device” (German, re-translated to English). After a few seconds, this item is replaced by “share device” - and only now the menu shows the item for fabric admininstration. I wonder what happens here.

The way things work when using Android based HA Companion App (and iOS too) is that the mobile device will first commission the device to itself as a Matter Fabric/Controller and then “Share” the device with the HA Matter Fabric/Controller. So the “Google LLC” is probably the name of the Android Matter Fabric/Controller. Since HA is able to control the device, you can delete the Google LLC .

that makes sense, thank you!
