Here is a javascript file that puts the switch back to old style, at least with my standard theme.
100% written with Claude so use at your own risk (only took 15 minutes and 2 fixes). Installation instructions in comments at top of file. Seems to replace it everywhere. Not sure if can change colors, as I use standard theme.
