Wifi based PIR motion sensor, light bulb compatibility

Hi,

I am new to HA, and considering using it for education purpose to demonstrate automation with IoT devices. I am leaning towards running HA on a Raspberry Pi and using a PIR motion sensor and light bulb for demonstrating automation. I am aware that there are devices based on Zigbee or Z-wave, but to keep things simple, I would like to have all connections use WiFi. I came across these two devices:

Any thoughts on compatibility with HA for these two devices? Are there other options that people have tested? Thanks!

I’ve got the same inquiry! Been searching around for a couple hours and not finding much.

There seem to be cheap ones that people spend a lot of time flashing to new firmware (and not much certainty of compatibility of the white label products).

There was a Shelley Motion but the product seems discontinued (a newer, more expensive one does seem available).

There are DIY versions to build up with just the PIR sensor and ESP board…but this seems like something that should have mass market solutions.

Will let you know if I find anything compelling for a solution! Hopefully others will chime in with rockin hardware.
