I have my living room lights controlled by a zwave switch. Working great, no issues. One of the light bulbs controlled by this switch is a wifi (Eufy) enabled bulb. That’s working as expected, the issue is when the switch is off, my log is filling up with “Update for light.living_room fails” and “Updating eufy light took longer than scheduled…” I sort of expect that because HA doesn’t know if the bulb is connected to that switch, so no power, no bulb.
Is there a way to configure it, so when the switch is off, the bulb shows up off?
I think the issue is not the light turning on or off, but that the wifi light can’t update if it doesn’t have power. I don’t think there is any workaround for this other than not cutting power to the WiFi bulb. Even if you tell your switch to turn off the bulb, the bulb will still show something like “unavailable” because it doesn’t have power.
That’s the issue. It’s not really a big pain point for me and I’ve chosen to ignore it. When I was setting this up, I was just wondering if there was a work around for this that I wasn’t aware of.
