Window sensor 1 AAA battery Zigbee? Or build a new Thread network?

I have some Parasoll zigbee window sensors which I am happy with. They are not sold anymore. Instead, there is Mygbett now with a very low price which is a Matter over thread device.

I searched through half of Ali Express expecting a Tuya alternative or something and could not find a window sensor which uses not 2, but only 1 AAA battery. Also asked AI, googled …couldn’t find anything. Do you know a low price option?

Alternative could be that I buy Mygbetts and try to set up a thread network, additionally to my zigbee network. Which sounds way more cumbersome than I thought if you’re running Home Assistant in docker like me: Connect ZBT-2 Thread to Home Assistant Container
Sooner or later, I will probably need a thread network anyway though because newer devices will be “matter over thread” - devices in general?

I am thinking about migrating to Home Assistant OS because ZBT-2 will be plug-and-play then? But I used that 2 years ago and my Zigbee2MQTT Addon(?) crashed regularly so everything worked poorly and I gave up on Home Assistant entirely until only recently.

Myggbett does not work with Zigbee, right? I read here that “some” of the new Ikea matter devices will support Zigbee also but not which ones.

Not sure what problem you’re trying to solve here exactly. If you’re worried about battery life, you can stop.
My old Aqara door sensor which you can find all over AE has been running on its original CR2032 battery for over 5 years in my install. It’ll turn 6 years old this April.

Agree with the couple above me. Your ‘criteria’ seems odd!

Reason for AAA ist because I can recharge it instead of CR2032. Reason for only 1 is because it’s slimmer than 2.

No Parasoll buyable in Ikeas in Germany.

The reason you will very likely not find a single AAA device is that the two batteries are typically connected in series to get it to 3V (2 x 1.5V for alkaline, or 2 x 1.2V for many rechargeables). 3V is the same as those Lithium batteries — which is what is required by these IoT chips (3V TTL, it’s called).

I have a MYGGBETT here I haven’t opened yet, I can try to connect it to Z2M in a couple of hours and see how it goes.

Rechargeable LIR2023 batteries are commonly available. Voltage is slightly higher though, so make your research.
Also, rechargeable AAA voltage is lower than regular one.
