Does anyone know good devices as speakers for home automation?
I want wireless one without microphone, or ability to disable it physically. solder the fucker out or something. cheap-ass hardware. just enough to make some sounds like announcements at home. playing music would be extra. like setup lofi-beats from youtube to play at mornings.
Just make an esphome media player with an esp32 s3. But it depends on how DIY you want it.
Just search here and you will find details. If buying from Aliexpress there are many off the shelf devices that will do what you want for not much money.
yeah I was thinking more of a ready-made solution.
I mean’t like removing the mic if it’s included like in those voice assistants. But I really want just a speaker that I can connect to home assistant. I heard the HA bluetooth is BLE so it is not really good for music. So maybe solution that connects to wifi. I can block it off the internet and stream music through HA to it.
maybe like ESP Muse Speaker. and just take the mic out.
If that’s the case then just buy a VPE and in the setting switch the mic off, it has an “enable voice” setting.
