I’m looking for a wireless Zigbee or Z-Wave light switch that I can stick on my walls with double sided tape and use as light switches around the house. I only seem to be able to find the Aqara stuff or the more expensive Aeotec hardware. Is anyone doing something similar?
I have an Ikea Tradfri dimmer, which works fine, but I find it a bit strange to operate so I stopped using it (Ikea’s remote control is more “normal”). I also have some flic buttons (and have backed flic 2 for more), which are bluetooth not Zigbee/Z-Wave, but are nice and small and fit on the existing switch plate (although unfortunately not over the existing switch).
I will mention this as an FYI…
I’ve recently been using the following with Philips Hue Hub to control a couple of my Hue lights: https://runlesswire.com/click_philips_hue/
No battery, no wires needed. It is very pricey however.
Comes with 2 “Command Strips” for attaching to a wall,
but it can also be mounted in a switch box which is how I use mine.
It pairs with the Philips Hue Hub using their App, and it is used to trigger scenes
that the App knows about. As for HA, it is not exposed to HA by the Hub so it has limited application.
