WTH are notifications (mobile) different actions for each device?

I use a lot of notifications - both standard and actionable - in my automations, sending messages not only to my phone, but also to my wife’s and our kids’ phones.

Now my wife got a new phone, so I needed to go through all the uses of the notifications to her old phone and change them to the new one - can’t be avoided, I guess. But what always causes a WTH moment is that I can’t just change the device and keep the other fields as they were. action.notify.mobile_app_wifePixel8a and action.notify.mobile_app_wifePixel3 are completely different actions.

This means I have to re-enter the title, the message and in the case of an actionable notification, the options, every time I want to switch from one device to the next. WTH!?

It can. Create a notification group. Even if it has only one device in it. Use the notification group everywhere. When you next upgrade your phone you only have to change it in one place. The notification group.

That’s may be because all notification methods are slowly being changed. Odd that the same brand of phone has this though. Got some links to the documentation for the two methods?
