I miss being able to edit the configuration.yaml
file via the UI independent of installing an editor.
This is useful for unsupervised installations, where installing the File editor add-on is more complicated.

Editing any file would be nice! I use junkfix/config-editor-card: Home Assistant Configuration Files Editor for Lovelace, but seems like this should be built-in.
So, since Home assistant has been driven by yaml, and I hope and pray that they keep as much in yaml as possible. However I would really like a native YAML editor like the lovelace dashboards have for configuration.yaml and any !included files.
While I know I can use the Hass Configurator/Add-On, having this be native would be alleviate a few issues I have with using DarkReader to get it into Dark mode, because the add-on maintainer has stated that they won’t implement themes unless there is a rewrite:
