WTH I lost my dashboard config when trying to edit on mobile :(

Using the new dashboard feature, I can easily setup a set of tiles. Doing this remotely is a slow process, but I managed to set up one while I was away just with the cameras and snapshot images from frigate that I wanted to see on the mobile app.

I was at dinner one night and decided, oh wouldn’t it be great to just add one more thing, so I attempted to do it from the mobile app.

I added the wrong tile, then went to delete it. I thought I clicked delete on the tile, but i think it was actually showing delete for the whole section…… unfortunately this isn’t super clear on the mobile app.

After clicking delete and then confirm…. My beautiful mobile dashboard was gone.

After the delete, I wanted to somehow get the dashboard back. I could only see a “done” button on the dashboard but there was no option to discard changes - implying that the delete action was permanent even though I was still in “edit mode”. I thought maybe the “done” button would confirm my changes, but really it doesn’t have any link to delete or save actions performed while in edit mode - all “done” does is exit from the edit mode.

I looked for a change history for the dashboard and I couldn’t find anything.

Embarrassingly, I am the CTO of a software automation company. So my ask is… can we have a 5 revision change history on the dashboard to prevent oafs like me from shooting themselves in the foot?

You’re right it should be possible to undo a deleted or modified card.
As a workaround, I actually got into the habit of not deleting at all, and just moving old dashboard cards onto a hidden page I created called “Trash”.
