I use helper switches to turn on/off reminders about “you need to vacuum, you need to take out the trash” etc.
Those run on a timer, which gets reset with every reload.
persistent timers (for example set the current date/time +3 days) would be great.
these should be able to be changed aswell, so if i take out the trash and reset the switch, it should use the current date/time and add 3 days.
Currently this is way too much work to setup with multiple helpers and tons of automations, especially if you use this for every chore at home.
I’m confused - isn’t this what the “restore” option does (assuming it doesn’t finish when HA is down)? But I’d be using Calendar and/or To-Do items instead. For example I have a birthday calendar and on a birthday I create a to-do item that keeps nagging me until I close the item. I also use the chores feature in the Grocy addon - this is good for things that should be x weeks apart but you’re not very good on doing them on the right day.
