WTH is the UX for nested automations not better?

When an automation (or script) is created in the visual editor, which includes multiple if-then or chooses and maybe on top even a lot of actions on one block, it is pretty hard to determine which (action-/control-)element belongs to which upper automation-element. It is hard for the eye to follow the line - which has a very low contrast - of the box to the upper element, because there are multiple lines next to each other.

I don’t have the perfect solution, but using different colors inside the different blocks would maybe help.

Agree with this - I’ve often placed blocks in the wrong position and had to move it.

Also very nitpicky, but the same could be said of condition/building block add buttons especially on mobile - they are very close in indentation to each other to the point it looks like a bug.

I agree that there could be a bit more obvious separation. IIRC, there used to be a bit more indentation, but that was problematic for people using small screens. The issue shown in your screenshot looks like it might be caused by the theme that’s in use, normally there’s a thin line that forms a box around the nested element…

True, with the boxes it does help to at least distinguish it better, but it’s still a little confusing.

Also I guess this is because I’m removing boxes around cards in my dashboard? It might make sense to separate these styles if that’s the case.
