WTH, no reason variables for 'start' and 'shutdown' event triggers

It would be useful to know why Home Assistant shuts down (restarting or powering off) or starts up (restarting, powering on or after non-clean shutdown). How about variables for telling that?

There are events fired when Home Assistant is shutting down, and a special automation trigger especially for creating automations to run before shutdown.

There are also events and a trigger for startup.

Yes, but those will not tell ‘why’.

List some examples of the “why” reasons you expect it to record.

As far as I can tell there are only two reasons.

  1. You did id by asking it to shut-down, or updating the core/OS

  2. It crashed. In which case nothing can be guaranteed to be recorded.

So really that is only one reason → no need for variables.

No crashing here now what i have know, but why not tell if there had been. I want to know was shutdown reboot or power off and was startup reboot or cold start.I want my startup and shutdown automations work different in reboot than cold boot and shutdown.
