So I logged an issue for ChimeTTS:
I have a Wyoming satellite running the snapcast client and pulse audio. Using the Snapcast Server Add-On (HACS) I am able to stream music to it vis Music Assistant and also perform voice assistant commands. It supports quite a range of functionality including automatically ducking the music when the wake word is heard, onboard custom wake word detection, etc. I’m thinking it may be possible to leverage the Snapcast stack to write a custom media_player integration to allow TTS announcements. If I have any luck with it over the next few months I’ll post my findings here.
So after doing a little research it turns out this is completely working for me via tts.speak. The Wyoming Satellite shows up as a media_player since it has SnapCast and TTS is able to announce to it via Piper. If anyone has questions on how I configured the satellite and home assistant for this let me know and I’ll be happy to share what I’ve done.
