X-Sense Security - is it possible to create an integration?

Is that status still hit-or-miss with both the custom and official integrations? I’ve been thinking about getting one or two systems (depending on coverage), but can’t decide if this is mature enough. Can anyone give some insight with present limitations?

I just received the SC07-MR 5 alarm kit, SBS50 base.

Getting it into HAOS wasn’t very difficult. Convoluted, few directions, yes.

What bothers me is how it gets connected.

X-Sense asks for my HAOS credentials not an MQTT user in Connect to Home Assistant in the X-sense app.

That was an immediate no. Very China IoT of them.

I created a new user in HAOS, local access only, no admin access, however that still provides a ton of access to HAOS.

If @Jarnsen or @theosnel are still monitoring here, would i be more secure using this, your integration?

I could explore ACL files in the share folder and turn on customize in MQTT and limit X-Sense to just their topics.

Otherwise, X-Sense has too much HAOS access if hacked, or a bad actor arises. Paranoid? Perhaps. Better safe than sorry.

Any thoughts anyone?

What I ended up doing was creating a new Mosquitto user for X-Sense. and Deleting my old stuff.

it would be great if X-sense works with a different and limited Mosquitto user.
@G2740 what is your experience for now?

Yes it does.

I created a seperate xsense Mosquitto user, at least the SC07-MR system does.

Changed the login and password in the X-Sense app to Mosquitto login and all 6 reconnected.

I deleted the limited HAOS user I had originally created for X-sense

No issues I know of.

Super! thanks a lot this helps a lot.

I created a separate xsense user then edited
/share/mosquitto/accesscontrollist
and added one for each of the devices e.g. for these 3 smoke detectors;

user xsense
topic read homeassistant/binary_sensor/#
topic readwrite homeassistant/binary_sensor/SBS5015XXXXXX_00000001/#
topic readwrite homeassistant/binary_sensor/SBS5015XXXXXX_00000002/#
topic readwrite homeassistant/binary_sensor/SBS5015XXXXXX_00000003/#

This still gives read access to the binary_sensors though, but it does restrict it to where it can write and it can’t access other areas.

Hi, I’m getting this error after updating HA. any idea what to do?

XSense API Issue: Unable to retrieve station data: 403/{"message":"Forbidden","traceId":"1f37f593-60af-6b7d-6da1-1d70d4f941b7"}

Hello,

I have bought the STH0B smart thermometer/hygrometer, they work quite well in the x-sense app but only battery level and RF level show up in HA. Any idea on how to integrate the temperature reading and humidity level?

Thanks,
Nuno

A new HACS release is available now with recent fixes for setup/login issues, Home Assistant 2026 compatibility, MQTT handling, translations, and expanded detector support.

More improvements have also been merged for the next release, including better standalone Wi-Fi detector handling, alarm/test state updates, readable timestamps, more device mappings/test/mute controls, and initial SSC0A/SSC0B camera support.

The official X-Sense MQTT integration is separate from this.

I'm using the WiFi only SC07-WX - which works fine with the 1.0.23 version of the custom X-Sense integration. The newer 1.2.1 gives me this error: Failed setup, will retry: XSense API Issue: Unable to retrieve station data: 404/{"message":"No shadow exists with name: 'mainpage'","traceId":"caf13615-50f0-0c73-1572-049a9b6a729f"}

I'm assuming that is because I have no X-Sense hub (the SC07-WX is WiFi only and won't work with the hub).

If the hub means I can get 100% alerts and polls locally, maybe I should get the SC07-MR bundle vs. what I'm using now. Anyone have thoughts on that?

Kann man die Kameras schon einbinden? Bei mir werden sie noch nicht angezeigt

Working great! The only thing ive noticed is the activity log filling up with these?

Kameras oder insgesamt?

This was fixed in the latest version. I mentioned that on github, just mentioning it here too.

Thanks for the report. This should be fixed in v.1.2.4, which was just released. Cameras are now discovered through the camera/IPC device list, the same way as in the X-Sense app. The APK-supported models are SSC0A and SSC0B.

Please update and let us know if the camera appears now.

Thanks for reporting this. v.1.2.4 should stop the base-station report-time entries from filling the activity log.

Please update and let us know if the log noise is gone.

Ich habe 14 Geräte und zwei Kameras, die Kameras werden immer noch nicht angezeigt.

Lets stick to this pls so all can participate/respond......

I have 14 devices and two cameras, but the cameras are still not showing up.
