I have xfinity and I’ve been trying to figure out how to show current network speeds. Right now the Xfinity device shows up as UPnP/IGD and it does not show any data for speeds up or down. It showed up in the HAOS on launch i just added it but i don’t see any configs that might help get this going.
I also have Xfinity and use the Speedtest.net Integration. It shows download and upload.
I tried this but the numbers are nowhere near what the website displays. So I thought going through the modem would work as it was detected by its not getting any data from the modem regarding speeds. It does display packet speeds tho.
Those are the numbers measured by whatever pc or box you are using for HA. Almost by definition these numbers are different (lower) than the speed at the modem.
Add a Ubiquity Dream Machine as your router. You can put the Xfinity modem into Bridge Mode, which transfers all control to the DM. You can ditch the crappy Xfinity online control panel and start using a much better router. The Dream Machine is easy to set up and there are lots of folks who use them who can help. Also, data transfer speeds are always available and CORRECT!!!
For me SpeedTest.net data was never close to what I was getting. The DM will give you the ultimate control over all your devices, rock solid performance and all the data you could ever want.
