Xiaomi Gateway 3: Mii H&T Devices Keep Coming Back after removing - how to hide?

Hi, I have a batch (8#) of Mii H&T Devices that I set up for my brother, flashed over the Telink Flasher using pvvx firmware. I generally followed this tutorial.

I set up my own (4#) H&T devices a while ago and added them to HA in BTHome.

I also have 2 Xiaomi Smart Gateways (one for BLE, one for Z2MQTT), so I have the Xiaomi Gateway 3 integration installed, for various other devices (nighlights, as well as the two hubs).

So, the problem is, that I have not added the 8# sensors to my own HA, but as they are still live (yes I could remove the batteries…) they keep adding themselves to the Xiaomi Gateway 3 integration every time it is restarted. Is there any way to temporarily hide these units or will I have to take the batteries out.

btw this is not a major issue, it is just mildly annoying as I want to fly with the devices to my brother’s place eventually, but when you fly you cannot have ‘loose’ batteries, airport security take them away; but if they are IN the units they leave them, this has been my personal experience.

I am also struggling working out to ‘batch remove’ these.

Thanks!

Hi just following up to see if anyone could shed some light on this please?

I came across a post referring to xiaomi_aqara.remove_device but I’m not sure if it’s the same hub (mine is a Xiaomi Smart Gateway 3).

Replying to myself.

The Xiaomi Smart Gateway Integration author AlexxIT came back with a suggested solution, just reset the Gateway.

Resetting the Gateway worked perfectly. I was a bit worried I would lose the various devices in the integration but they all came back fine, even with the original names; and without the pesky H&T items I wanted gone.

Steps (for the square Xiaomi Smart Gateway 3):

  1. With the device still plugged in and HA running, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the Gateway.
  2. Press and hold the reset button (there is only one button on the device) for about 10 seconds until the blue light turns orange and the orange light starts flashing.
  3. Release the button.
  4. Reconnect the Ethernet cable.
  5. Restart HA. Might need to flush the browser Ctrl-F5 or just start a new browser window).

k.

[EDIT]While they are visible in HA without any amendments, you may need to re-add the devices to the Mii App, especially if you use Do not Disturb for the LEDs etc.
