I’ve purchased a Xiaomi S200 person scale, when inserting the batteries immediately the device was detected by Home Assistant. But when installing the device, it doesn’t show any fields. How can I get the information from the scale into HA?
The values first come when you actually use the scale.
However the scales often have a quirky initial setup, so if you do not set it up right then no values or only a few values are posted to HA.
You might need to factory reset the scale and then follow the guide for setup with the scale.
Remember that HA is just sniffing the values from the scale and not actually interacting with it, so it is the scale’s own setup guide you need to follow strictly.
Thanks @WallyR for your support. Indeed I’ve not setup or configured the device, it was detected straight out of the box. What would be the setup prcoedure for Home Assistant? I guess I cannot find that info in the manual that came with the device itself.
I will try a factory reset this evening when back home again.
And indeed, I was using the scale, the scale was active but didn’t sent any data to HA.
There is no procedure for HA.
There is one for the scale.
