Xiaomi switch double click through Xiaomi gateway

Good morning everyone,

New to Home Assistant, I’m slowly going through it’s capabilities. I have quite a few Xiaomi devices (lamps and switches mostly) which I’ve used successfully over the years with my previous home automation system, Jeedom.

For a few of these switches, I take advantage of the double click / Long press events that are natively recognized by Xiaomi automation, and used to be recognized by Jeedom as well (so for example I could control a roller shutter through one of these buttons to distinguish between up, down, stop).

with Home Assistant, it looks like only “Long press” is recognized when using Xiaomi integration. I have found an alternate solution using ZHA, and it’s respective integration of Xiaomi devices, but it requires a zigbee controller and to reconfigure my entire setup (connecting all xiaomi zigbee devices to this controller), which ultimately I will do anyway, but in the short term, I would appreciate if I could use the xiaomi gateway. And for that matter, can you use the xiaomi gateway as a remote zigbee controller supported natively by ZHA ?

Thanks and regards
