Yale Lock without Connect Bridge

I have a Yale YRL-216 door lock with the zwave module. My Yale ‘gateway’ died and yale doesn’t produce the zwave based gateway anymore. Is there a way to connect the YRL-216 with HA without BridgeConnect ‘gateway’? This is a greenfield HA deployment.

I’m new to HA, but old hat in Linux and networking. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty.

Second this question, trying to see if I can connect my yale assure without the connect bridge and handle it as a local zwave device? I have the zwave module, and HA will find the device, but doesnt configure/identify it as a lock.

I’m having some success doing this.

I setup home assistant with a Zooz 800 USB stick. I then setup ZwaveJS UI as my Zwave gateway.

I had a Yale Zwave module go bad on me (probaby my fault) and ordered a new one for my lock and is working as suspected. Still only supports Security 0 but at least it is working without having to rebuy a lock.

Then, I installed Keymaster to help manage the lock and codes. That had its bumps but I’m pretty sure I’m close to the end of them. Probably mostly my fault because this is my first HA and Zwave deployment.

The one annoying thing i found is that if you try enter a duplicate door unlock code in ZwaveJS UI, the UI will revert the code slot status back to the previous good status without error. It looks like it never took your new setting. The lock/zwave did get the change but rejected it but there was no error to indicate there was an error.
