Yamaha Musiccast TTS - how to TTS with any media player

I’m wondering whats necessary to use TTS while using any mediaplayer.
Especially what do i need to realize TTS on a musiccast system for example?!

As far as I know you can’t do this with the Yamaha Musiccast receivers. I have one myself and the functionality is pretty limited.
You would need a Pi or a Google Home/Alexa device that uses the receiver as the speaker and then play the TTS on this device.

Hey @upwind_anderl, I’m doing exactly what you appeared to be trying back in April. I’m able to use the basic media player features for my Yamaha, turn it on and off etc. - but no dice pushing the cloud_say tts service requests into it. I see this as a big value add as my Yamaha has the biggest and best sounding speakers…lol. Any luck on your end?

nooo… poor end here :frowning:
embarrassing to say i still use my alexas for tts and not the musiccast devices

Hi,

Wondering the same thing, somebody solved it for the MusicCast speakers

Just a thought that maybe we can save the tts file and then play it using the server source on music cast device

Sorry to dig up an old post but do you have a link for that?

Hi,

I have not seen any solution for it yet, I have on my todo list to put in a Pi to act as TTS

Oh. I thought you said you knew someone who had solved it.

So why did you say this?

Ah sorry an IF is missing, i meant “Wondering the same thing IF somebody solved it for the MusicCast speakers”
