I have used Google Voice (via Nabu Casa) for years waiting for “when” for voice.
I ordered some hardware and am experimenting, and it works better than I expected; kudos.
I use YAML whenever I can. We can argue philosophy elsewhere, but in this case I have exposed entities for google done in YAML and it works great, as I can change by domains. And it’s future-targeted, so if entities are added it honors that in the future.
Love it. Hate having to do them individually (and having to REMEMBER to do it).
Is it really true you can’t configure locally configured assistant exposed entities in YAML? Or have I just not found the right way?
And no mass change other than from the GUI?
I’ve got 1100+ active entities, and add more all the time. Keeping exposed entities correct is hard enough with Google, using yet a different technique and different defaults is really tedious for local assistant.
I haven’t found a solution. I’ve been trying to synchronize google and assist.
The defaults seem weird… assist for example picked of one of my zwave door locks and not the other. I expected none (security) but not that.
Google shows up with hundreds and hundreds of items that flag as not available in the UI due to yaml configuration but also not compatible with that integration – so why are they showing up?
I’ve wiped the majority of items in google by excluding most domains, so I’m making progress getting them sync’d, but if anyone who works on this stuff is listening:
Even if you do not want to support yaml, on the exposed entities screen if you could:
Allow filtering by current exposed status, for each voice assistant separately (and each status separately).
I think this is more of a general UI issue:
Allow a select-all of data tables so I can put them in excel to work on
As it is now, it only shows a few rows before and after the current screen. If I had 300 lines, and even if I scroll all the way down 300 lines having started a selection, when I copy and paste I only get a few lines. This is a real mess for someone who wants to pull such tables into excel or notepad and work on the data.
