i have already ha and zwavejsmqtt installed with an zwave usb dongle z-stick gen5, some devices are joined and using s2 network keys and other does not although this devices support secure connections
e.g.
Fibargroup Fibaro Walli Outlet type E/F FGWOE-011
Philio Technology Corp Smart Energy Plug In Switch PAN16
Fibargroup Double Switch 2 FGS223
is there any possibility to check why this devices not using any network keys or ist this an firmware issue ?
Perhaps they only support S0 security. In my opinion, unless it is a door lock the secure encryption is not needed and uses additional resources for almost no benefit.
The mesh range to too close for anybody except a REALLY close neighbour to intercept anyway. I have all of my devices connected with no encryption.
okay all of my used devices should support s2 security because i have multiple vendors connected to my zwave network with s2 security and all of the listed devices should also support s2 due to user manual
i share your opinion, s2 not general needed, but if possible definitely the best choice
