Does anybody know of a small, simple wall-mountable Z-Wave button that, preferrably, has some kind of cover to prevent the button from accidentally being pressed? I’d like to make a simple duress alarm similar to what banks have. The idea being that the button can be kept in an discreet placed that’s not readily visible and can be pushed by the user to alert of danger.
I don’t think you will find anything like that, esp for Zwave. I would use a zigbee button like this aqara one, https://www.amazon.com/Aqara-WXKG11LM-Switch-Wireless-Remote/dp/B07D19YXND or an ikea button like this one:TRÅDFRI Shortcut button, white - IKEA and then put a cover over it.
This cover from amazon I think would fit over the button well, and would not be triggered accidentally: https://www.amazon.com/SCRTB-Emergency-Button-Switch-Protection/dp/B09B3QCNMP/
You can find a lot of variety in zigbee buttons, but a cover will have to be improvised. Also, better monitor the battery level and generate notifications when it gets low. If it’s really important it work, you have to make sure the battery is in good shape.
You could also take something like a AC powered sonoff zbmini switch, and use any button with a cover with it, and have HA read the switch transition as an alarm. A bit convoluted, but AC powered.
