Hi - I installed the latest update to z-wave JS UI the other day, and one of my devices went into failed state after the update (Kwikset 620 door lock). Tried whatever I could to fix it with no luck so decided to remove/re-add Z-wave (I only have two other Z-wave devices). All kinds of messed up now. Z-Wave JS is installed but it says the failed device is fine now, but another device is now failed, and I am unable to reinstall the Z-Wave integration. It spins a while then “Failed to start the Z-Wave add-on.” Is there some way I can totally wipe out all remnants of Z-wave in HA and start it over? I already uninstalled it all but it didn’t totally wipe it so I think it’s in a state of flux and not letting me reinstall correctly. Fyi, using Aeotec Z-Stick 7 Plus.
I’m about a month into my HA journey so I’m sure I’m missing something basic. Would appreciate some help getting back in action.
You need to go back to the basics. Integration and Add-on aren’t the same things. You can’t run Z-Wave JS UI Add-on and Z-wave Add-on at the same time.
I’ve been running it that way all along until yesterday. I already have the Z-Wave JS and Z-Wave JS UI add-ons install. I’m trying to reinstall the Z-Wave Integration and that’s where it’s failing. Are you saying I shouldn’t be installing the Z-Wave Integration at all if i’m using the two add-ons? If that’s the case, then how do I get my Z-wave devices to show up in HA? Thanks, I appreciate it.
Also, i’m happy to go back to the basics and wipe out all my Z-Wave config entirely and then re-add my three devices, but it’s not letting me even do that.
I managed to get my devices setup in Z-Wave JS. Z-Wave add-ons are Z-Wave JS and Z-Wave JS UI. Z-Wave JS is NOT started, and Z-Wave JS UI IS started. I am unable to install the Z-Wave integration as it won’t finish. None of the devices listed above show up as available devices to use in HA. What do I need to do to make that happen?
Did you follow the instructions in the Z-Wave JS UI add-on documentation on how to install the integration? It provides the steps needed. Docs are on the add-on page, or online:
