I’m having a lot of trouble trying to set up Z-Wave with my Home Assistant install. I’ve got a HomeSeer Z-Net-G8. I got confused trying to find instructions and I’ve tried lots of things.
At the moment I have Z-Wave JS UI installed and working. I can see the devices I’ve joined to the network but they don’t appear as devices/entities in HA generally.
I had “Z-Wave JS” installed as well - I’ve since realised that was bad so I uninstalled it.
I don’t have the Z-Wave integration showing on the integrations page - I think this is why I can’t see the Z-Wave devices. If I try to add it (add integration, search for Z-Wave, select, custom install, don’t use Z-Wave supervisor add-on, put in correct URL of Z-Wave server, click submit - following the HomeSeer instructions) it says “Device is already configured”.
I’m not sure where to go from here - I can’t uninstall the Z-Wave integration because it doesn’t show up as installed. But I also can’t install it because it’s already configured. How do I get out of the mess I’ve created?
Thanks - that was it. It shows up as Z-Wave JS when it’s disabled - I’d read I shouldn’t have Z-Wave JS and Z-Wave JS UI running at the same time so that’s why I didn’t re-enable it.
You definitely do not want both of these add-ons running at the same time (using the same controller). But there is only one integration and it connects to either of the add-ons.
That’s the “name” assigned to the instance of the Z-Wave integration or “Hub” as it’s labelled in the first screenshot. Just like “LG webOS TV A996” is not the name of an integration, but the name of the HomeKit Device integration instance (or config entry as it’s technically called). But yes, I could see how that might have been confusing. You can rename that to anything you want by clicking on the … in the first screenshot.
