Z-Wave JS 1.0: How to sync names?

With the Z-Wave JS core 1.0 update that includes Z-Wave JS UI, how do we sync names from Home Assistant to Z-Wave UI? When I visit the UI I only see node names.

I’ve only used the core integration, never used Z-Wave UI before. I held off migrating when I heard about the 1.0 update.

Is it manual, or is there a way for UI to pull naming info (or share it) from Home Assistant?

Names sync from zwavejsui to HA.

Reload should sync names and locations from zwavejsui to HA.

So you should make sure you don’t have both zwavejs and zwavejsui installed. You can only use one. I suggest using zwavejsui

This is an outdated recommendation because the core app is also Z-Wave JS UI (i.e. every Z-Wave app user has Z-Wave JS UI). There is no reason to recommend the community app anymore.

Yep, I just updated Z-Wave core app to 1.0.0 (now 1.0.1). Not using the old community app.

It could be that this hasn’t been figured out yet. Looking for the official recommendation. If it ends up being like the community app, looking for a way to sync 40+ devices over without manual entry.

The name syncing is still only one way (ZUI → HA), as already mentioned. That hasn’t changed with the new app.

You can try and see if this still works: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/deprecated-switching-z-wave-js-addons-with-minimal-downtime-z-wave-js-official-to-z-wave-js-ui-community/409904#p-1836792-step-11-optionally-export-device-names-and-locations-10
